Size guide

Sizes on this site are UK, with the EU number under each one. If you're between sizes, measure — it takes a minute and it saves a return.

US sizes above are men's. For women's US, add 1.5 — a UK 6 is a women's US 8.5.

Half sizes share an EU number with the whole size below them, which is why you'll see UK 7 and UK 7.5 both listed as EU 41. That is how the shoes are actually made, not a mistake in the table.

Measure your foot at home

You need a sheet of A4, a pen, and a wall. Do it in the evening — feet are at their largest then, and a shoe that fits at 9am can be tight by 6pm.

  1. Put the paper on the floor with one short edge against the wall, and stand on it with your heel touching the wall.
  2. Mark the paper at the tip of your longest toe. That is not always the big toe.
  3. Measure from the wall edge of the paper to the mark, in centimetres. Do the other foot too and use the longer one.

How the brands run

Nike
Runs small. We'd take a half size up, especially in Air Force 1.
Adidas
True to size in most models. Sambas and Gazelles are narrow — a half size up if your foot is wide.
New Balance
True to size, and roomier than most. Stay where you normally are.
Converse
Runs large. A half size down is usually right.
Timberland
Runs large. A half size down, and allow for a thick sock.

Where a particular pair runs differently, we say so on its product page. That note is the one to trust over this list.
